Nothing after nine: a two-week test for evening bloating
Updated 29 October 2026
Nothing after nine is a 14-day Ojafi plan for people who feel bloated or sleep badly after late meals. You finish eating by nine in the evening and change nothing else. At the end you know whether your problem is when you eat or what you eat, which tells you whether you need to give up any food at all.
What it asks
Finish eating by nine, and leave the evening alone. Drinks are fine. Eat what you normally eat, so the only thing that changes is the clock.
| Length | 14 days |
|---|---|
| Helps you check | Bloating, sleep |
| What you give up | Nothing, only the late slot |
Why timing first
Large meals late at night are one of the common causes of bloating the NHS lists. Timing is also the cheapest thing to test: two weeks, nothing to buy, nothing to cut. If your evenings settle, you may be able to keep eating the foods you suspected.
How Ojafi plans work
- Every plan has a length and says up front what you will know at the end.
- You log meals and how they sat, about a minute a day.
- At the end Ojafi tells you which of the plan’s claims held for you, and which did not.
- No plan takes a food away. Ojafi suggests what to add or when to eat, never what to cut.
Plans run in the Ojafi iPhone app, which is in review now. The food journal they build on works in your browser today.
Questions people also ask
- Is Nothing after nine a fast?
- No. You eat breakfast, lunch and dinner as usual. It only moves the last meal earlier.
- What if I work late?
- Move the cut-off to fit your day, and keep it the same for the two weeks. The point is a clear before and after.
